Mike & Laura Wedding
Creating an invitation and website for my wedding day was one my all-time favorite projects. My wife Laura is also quite creative and, much like in life, was the perfect partner for this project. We based the look of our wedding materials on Laura’s hand-drawn pencil sketch of us. The loose, hand-drawn style of illustration added some fun and personality to our wedding materials. We digitized her original sketch and used this as a style reference for other illustrations. When combined with bold stripes of color these sketches really jumped off the page. Our wedding colors of ivory, navy blue and cyan were used throughout our printed and digital pieces. This light, cool color palette was perfect for our summer wedding. A traditional serif font helped balance the illustrations with a more formal look. It was a fun project to complete as a couple and having our personalities come through our design made the end result even more fulfilling.
