Heinert Motorsports
Heinert Motorsports is the racing team of my friend Mark Heinert. When Mark moved from karting to mini-sprint cars it was time for a new team logo. The goal for this design was to use graphical elements common to motorsports in a sleek, dynamic way to convey speed and motion. I used a checkered flag and bent it around a corner, narrowing as it leads into the name to move the eye through the logo. The placement of this shape also doubles as the horizontal bar of the H. Combining the H and flag design together allowed me to create a separate icon independent of the complete logo. Along with the logo I also created the car number. In the style of old school hand painted numbers I connected dramatic thick and thin spaces with flowing lines.
